Did the Trinitarian aspect of Catholicism make it easier for polytheistic pagans to adopt?

No. Such a view is based in the Bible. And it was very foreign to the pagans. It does appear that the use of Logos did connect with the pagans of the first century. It was used often by early Christianity as a tool to connect with them.
